Reverent Experiences

I had quite the experience today that I would like to share with you.  I dressed my first deceased body today. Kiera, my first counselor, and I dressed an elderly woman in her temple clothes in preparation for her burial. There were no other endowed female family members in her family. When we arrived the family forgot some of the articles of clothing. Some of the articles of temple clothing they did bring were her husbands. The socks they brought her had holes in them. The family was from out of town and so they couldn't go back to get hers. Needless to say, she is wearing my temple dress, veil and garments. They are hers now. It was quite the experience. Before she was dressed she looked like an average, ordinary elderly woman. After she was dressed in her temple clothes she looked beautiful and peaceful. It was almost like she was smiling. Her name is Marie Roesler. I just hope we did everything appropriately. It was sacred and reverent, even though I had never met the sister. I will never forget this humbling opportunity.

Hello Family

Sorry it's been so long. Just wanted to say hello and hope all of you have a great weekend. Dad's helping a young man in our ward this morning with his Eagle project and I'm helping with a wedding luncheon this afternoon.

Dad is through with his first class and started his second class last Tuesday. It's alot of work, but I think he's loving every minute of it. It's been a change for both of us. With all the studying he has do we still find time for a game of scrabble, I can even beat Dad (I still think he's letting me win), it's fun anyway.

Love you and miss you,

Mom

Thank You!

So needless to say my testing schedule has been insane and I missed the opportunity to celebrate STS day. I would like to thank all those who made the holiday great I truly appreciate your patriotism in my behalf. I am really grateful for the thoughtfulness of everyone in the family. The generosity you showed me was sincerely appreciated. It was a rough week and unfortunately it hasn't ended. We have a pharmacology test Tuesday and have had two tests and three quizzes this past week. So being busy is understatement. I have permanent butt prints in the chair at the study table you can find me at when I am not in class.

A birthday re-cap though seems to be in order. I woke up on Tuesday and went to work out about 5AM with notes in hand for a quiz at 9AM. My buddy asked if I wanted to go to breakfast and I said, "Can't, quiz" He said no problem. So after getting to school and studying all morning I got to class to find a note on the door. "Class cancelled" "Great!" I have class in an hour so that doesn't give me time to do anything except go back to the library. "I missed breakfast for this?" Then I had a quiz in Optics in which I was grateful to at least get a participation point. It was a long day. At work one of my gymnasts brought his trombone and played "happy birthday" for me. That was a highlight. The parents and gymnasts gave me a little celebration but I had rush off to a Pharmacology Review that lasted four hours. It wouldn't have been so bad but I attended another one the day before. When I finally got home Andrea said, "You lost a sweater." I thought oh she shrunk another one. I was shocked when she presented a tattered ball of threads that was a rag of material. The battery acid from the car we had in the trunk spilled all over and my sweater was in the stroller in the trunk. Yeah, I know...good times right? So, after giving up on the day I went to sleep. Fortunately, Wednesday was much better but my standard was lower after Tuesday the 24th.

But to make my point...THANK YOU! I love you guys and am so grateful for all you've done for me.
